Alex Jones, God love him, is the king of hyperbole, but that doesn’t mean that the issues he highlights aren’t critical issues. It just means that until he dials down the intensity to somewhere south of ballistic, lots of rational people may be forced to tune him out because no one can listen to a howler monkey squeal for very long before they start to develop a tic. Having said that, however, I ran across this story on another blog, and the issue it brings to light, is a pretty big deal. It is the very type of thing that is going on behind the scenes and largely unreported, but methodically eating away at America’s foundations like termites.
After saying such a thing about Alex, by way of reparations, I’ll just leave you the link and give him the honor of your reading it off his own site in his article entitled “It’s Official, the Fourth Amendment is Dead” You know, I do have to wonder if Alex started out calm and sane, and it was the fact that for a long time he was sort of a lone voice sounding the alarm while the disaster of America’s dismantling went unhindered and unabated while the masses slept on, which led to his current state of extreme tortuosity. (Yes I made that word up). Poor Alex! It pains me to see his veins popping out like that. He could use a spa weekend to unwind. (Couldn’t we all?)
Well, moving on to other news, the very first story I saw when I booted up this morning was about a couple who had 3 kids, the oldest of which is a teen age boy whom they kept locked up for the past 2 years, starved him until he was under 90 pounds even though he begged for food, and then sent him off with a one-way ticket to California, telling him he could never come back, then proceeded to throw away everything from his childhood. The two sisters couldn’t even describe him or what color his hair was, that’s how secluded he had been kept. Folks, I realize this is not something new. I have a friend who had a childhood so horrific it is reminiscent of that of Dave Pelzer author of “A Child Called ‘It'”. Satan loves hurting children best of all. (Women second best). And I believe that God is clear that for anyone who so much as causes them to stumble, it is better that person had a millstone tied around their neck. God have mercy on helpless children. I liked this story much better for its happy ending, and I pray that for the teen and his two sisters, God will give them, too, a happier ending now that they have been rescued from those parents and the parents are going to jail. I pray God send someone with the gospel to the parents in jail.
You know, if a person is not a follower of Christ, then the Bible tells us, they are of their father, satan. Their thoughts and inspirations, aspirations and inclinations, their values and behaviors are all dictated by satan as he milks their fallen and depraved nature for all it is worth. Satan hates God and he abhors those who are redeemed. Who is redeemed? Only those who have the righteousness of Christ applied via the Cross. And children who have not reached the age of accountability. And so, we should not be surprised at the increase in predatory acts against “the least of these” or against Christians.
Saeed Abedini knows this first-hand. Like the Apostle Paul, he has been imprisoned for his faith. Both he and these children have met evil “face to face”. Saeed Abedini is despised for no other reason than his love for Jesus. Have you ever been Despised For Jesus Christ? As the Lord tarries in His coming, it is increasingly likely that even here in America, we Christians will be! Our Canadian neighbors to the North are running just slightly ahead in their own move in that direction.
I just finished reading a book about the Natalee Holloway story, written by her dad. Here in America there is not always justice, (Travon?) but compared to other nations, we have been so blessed in so many ways. The book was mostly about all the unbelievable ways that not only did the Aruban and Dutch government authorities not investigate, but they did everything they could to prevent the Holloway family and numerous volunteers who came at their own expense, from doing their own investigation and subverted the analysis of circumstantial evidence that was found. All to protect a corrupt system of which the perpetrators were an extension by way of family ties. I got the impression from the book, that the father was allowing, in his mind at least, for the fact that there was a huge syndicate of corruption in which Joran van der Sloot was peripherally involved as a small and dispensable “player” and both he and his lawyer father were much more threatened by what this corrupt syndicate might do to him, than of his going to jail, and thus they had to avoid the facts coming out “at all costs” and had a huge network going to bat to help prevent it, as the stakes were apparently high for all involved. Van der Sloot is serving a 28 year prison sentence in Peru for conviction of murdering Stephanie Flores, and is of course, appealing. The last I heard, he had impregnated a woman while in prison, and if that were to prove true, it could provide him the loophole he needs to obtain Peruvian citizenship and avoid extradition to the U. S. to face the charges pending against him in American courts in the Holloway case. Now there is someone who knows someone who is very familiar with legal loopholes, whether he killed Natalee or not. Seven years of agony for that family and though she has now been legally declared dead, I can not imagine living with the not knowing what happened and still having never found any remains.
Nothing good can come from an unregenerate mind. Without salvation, there but by the grace of God, go you or I.
You don’t have to do glaringly evil things to qualify as a sinner, though. God sees all sin the same. What we think is “good” is not the standard God goes by. What we think is “good” is vastly relative. Hitler believed what he was doing was good. Obama thinks what he is doing is good. There are people ( Ray Kurzwiel) who think it would be “good” if we could harness technology to enable us to defy death. But as in the case with little kids who don’t comprehend that there is so much they don’t know or understand, this human aspiration would be catastrophic if God allowed it. He won’t. Because on its face, this aspiration is the epitome of self-as-god, an idol, a false god.
No one is immune to the harm and pain that accompanies evil. But because the understanding of our origins via a loving yet righteous Creator, have largely been lost in the “collective consciousness” of humanity, we the human race fail to see the correlation between sin and sin’s consequences to said race. Have you ever noticed that people of extremely high intelligence often can be unmindful of the most rudimentary things? The “absent-minded professor” syndrome. (Einstein said “[I do not] carry such information in my mind since it is readily available in books. …The value of a college education is not the learning of many facts but the training of the mind to think.) Education is important, but not supreme, and yes, it is important to think for oneself. But is that enough? The continual quest for knowledge, is both a God-given quality, and at times, a curse and can become a stumbling block. The big concern is not in how much knowledge mankind has, and no, it is not enough just to “think for yourself”. The real danger is knowledge in the absence of wisdom and understanding. When you want to know how something works, it is only logical to look to the designer and maker of that something, for guidance. The Bible is the handbook which holds the key to gaining the critical understanding which will keep man from using knowledge in detrimental and deadly ways. That is why the Bible calls life outside of Christ, being “lost”. And yet people disdain the Bible as if it were a book of nursery rhymes and to those who have moved on to Quantum Physics and Biotechnology it is considered far, far beneath their level of intelligence.
Well, God said they would say that.! (1 Cor. 1:27) because He Himself designed it that way. He came not to call the (self) “righteous”, but sinners to repentance. In essence, He says, “you’re so smart? Go on then, have your way, but you won’t be able to come crying to me when the chickens come home to roost”. Job and his friends may have questioned God, but the difference between Job and his friends was that Job’s mouth was stopped after this little come-uppance from God. Knowledge without wisdom only leads to destruction. If you wish to be smart and wise, read and heed these words from Amos 5:
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name: 9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress. 10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly. 11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them. 12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right. 13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time. 14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. ( Dr. Ben Carson is a good example of what can be accomplished when Knowledge is tempered with Godly wisdom)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but the fool despises wisdom. In other words, the first thing you need to have is a respect and fear of a sovereign Creator God, or all your other knowledge will be for naught and lead to folly. Only fools dismiss this fundamental wisdom. There was a time when the Bible was the basis for all education, and the birth of America was the result. God and scripture were taken out of schools, and disintegration has been the result. Simple. Spiritual laws in action.
So as you read the news from day to day, the only way to make sense out of this crazy world and these crazy times we are living in, is to view them with the perspective that can only be obtained in Scripture.
Hope. Who among us couldn’t use some right about now? Humble yourself and ask God for wisdom, and then go to His Word and get it.
If everyone did that, it would make all the difference in the world! Literally.
