Daniel 2: 20-22

20Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings, and sets up kings: he gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22He reveals the deep and secret things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

The PTB (powers-that-be) which have power and authority over us, have it only with God’s permission and for His ultimate purposes.  As Christians, we can trust that whatever touches us in any way, has passed through God’s hand first.  So whether or not God “used” Obama, government institutions, HAARP and TESLA technologies, or whether it was by His own  spoken Word that the weather was commanded and Hurricane Sandy was formed and able to do the damage that it did, it was still an “act of God”.  Judgement, or warning?  I am not sure, but either way begs the question, “What is it going to take for this nation, (mankind in general)  to accept that there is a God in Heaven Whom we must and will answer to?”  The answer to that is that “wickedness will wax worse and worse”  (2 Tim. 3:13) and even in the tribulation itself, wicked and rebellious humans will curse God and refuse to repent after there is no longer any pretense that He is there, and what is befalling them is HIs wrath (See Revelation 16:21)
