Song For Sandee
By A. Garrett Lloyd © 1994
(Written when we first started dating)
Been walking ’round barely touching the ground
With a pretty young girl at my side
I hold her close and I look in her eyes
And I get this feeling I just can’t hide
I try to say what’s going on in my heart
But the words keep gettin’ in the way
So she sat me down and turned the radio down
And said “there’s something I”ve gotta say”
If we’re gonna walk this road together
Boy you better know right from the start
You might mean the world to me
But you’re not the only one in my heart
Ya see I belong to my Father in Heaven
And I gave my life to the Lord above
Don’t be blue, there’s still room for you
But my God’s my greatest love
Sometimes that road seemed to much to face
But somehow we always made it through
Hand in hand on the narrow path
Amazed at what the Lord could do
I don’t believe I’d change single thing
Lookin back at the life we’ve led
When I recall the very start of it all
And remember just what she said
Chorus
Well if we’re gonna walk this road together
Boy you better know right from the start
You might mean the world to me
But you’re not the only one in my heart
You see I belong to our Father in Heaven
And I gave my life to the Lord above
Don’t be blue, there’s still room for you
But my God’s my greatest love
(Instrumental Interlude)
Our son came home the other day
With a pretty young girl at his side
Said “Mom and Dad, don’t be sad
But I’m leaving you for my bride”
I recognized the stars in his eyes
Like my own so many years ago
So I sat them down and turned the t.v. down
And said “There’s something you both should know”
Well, if you’re gonna walk this road together
You better know right from the start
Times have changed but the Lord remains
So keep Him deep inside your heart
If you have faith in your Father in Heaven
And keep your eyes on the prize above
I hope and pray that you find your way
And keep God your greatest love
Make God………your greatest love!
WOW! Very poignant song- beautiful, clever, anointed, & intriguing; very talented! I had to read it a couple of time to get the gist of it Mt22:37!. God bless you & yours!

Yeah. I got a sweet hubby! Glad you got your Gravatar straightened out. I can’t figure out why the menu on the right of my blog has numbered the chapters of my book out of order when they were assigned correctly. It has chapter 1, then 10,11,12, then 2-9! WordPress has a mind of its own sometimes.
