My flowerbeds are in dire need of some weeding!
Meanwhile, here is a positive human interest type story for you;

Yesterday was a day when my spirit was mourning. I get like that every time I go to the Cancer Center with Garrett. Cancer is so sad. But its not just cancer, it is the curse on this Earth. Sickness and decay in general. Some days I just seem to be this sorrow-detector and I am not depressed or anything, just acutely acutely aware of the emptiness and sorrow around me on this Earth. The hollow existence of so many. My spirit mourns within me. I want the world to know that all we long for and need can be found in Jesus. I know it doesn’t make “rational sense” because the ways and thoughts of this world are not like the ways and thoughts of God. It is unfamiliar and foreign. We have been conditioned to believe happy endings are a fairy tale. We want justice, but we can’t make it happen. We want peace but we can’t stop fighting. We want to live forever but we are bound by mortal bodies, yet we are eternal. Our souls were made for eternity. Sometimes God does seem unfair. We have to wonder how He can bear to watch the suffering that goes on down here. How He can restrain Himself from intervening. I have long-since abandoned my need to understand all of the intricacies of God. He is utterly beyond the scope of my intellect, which I see as a good thing. If He was so simple and small that I could fathom Him, He wouldn’t be much of a God.
As I scanned multiple news sites and the articles in my inbox from various subscriptions, there is all sorts of “news” but I can’t bring myself to spread the misery today. Contrary to what some people might think, those of us who blog about what we consider end-time events, are not addicted to pessimism. We hope to appeal to those who are discouraged by developments in the world, with the good news that there is a “cure” to this world’s ailments. The world is falling apart at the seams because we have forgotten our Creator. It is as simple as that. Forgotten as in, “have not cared enough to remember”, as in, “have rebelled against”.
God will “redeem” this Earth one day. He will remove the curse. But as for people, we must be redeemed individually, and willingly. God created you. That is truth. It does not require defense, as it stands eternal. You are a sinner. That is truth, it does not require defense, it just requires proclamation. There is a hell. God says so in His Word. We are dead (Spiritually) in our trespasses and sins, and must be “born again” of the Spirit, in order to understand the things of the Spirit. If you have curiosity about God, and are interested in truth, you have to admit that you are a sinner, and ask God to redeem you and give you this new birth unto spiritual life. Trust what He says, obey what He requires, and then it will make sense.
History as we have known it, is heading for a conclusion. A judgment day is going to follow, but regardless of the timing of that, we each will stand before the Creator one day. Ten out of every ten human beings dies. Guaranteed! You will give an account to the One True God some day. Believe it, or don’t believe it, that is your prerogative. It won’t change the fact. When you stand before God, what will you have to say for yourself? “I never killed anyone”? “I was better than my father, brother, neighbor”? In order to win the Olympics, there is a standard an athlete must meet. In order to win any contest, there has to be a measurable, quantifiable standard of performance. Do you know what God’s standard is, which you must measure up to, in order to enter Heaven? Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me”. Why is that? Because God is HOLY. Not just good, but PERFECT. You can’t be a little bit holy, just like you can’t be a little bit sterile. The Bible says All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. How can we ever be as Holy as God? Only by the cleansing blood of Jesus. It is just like the Passover Lamb. When the death angel saw the blood of the lamb on the door posts, he bypassed that house and the firstborn son was allowed to live. When God looks at us if He sees the covering of the shed blood of Christ, we are viewed by Him as Holy with the same Holiness that God has because Christ’s holiness is attributed to us, that is, if we have asked for it and been willing to receive it. Christ was our substitute. He paid the penalty, suffered the death that we should have. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, the Bible says. But we must repent! We have to realize that sin is a condition we are helpless to overcome, but just like a guilty criminal in a court of law, we are without question, guilty-as-charged. There is a debt we owe, and can’t pay, to “clear our name” or “expunge our record”, but there is One who can, and is willing to do so. We can’t buy the cure. We can’t repay Him. All we can do is accept the freely proffered ransom that can set us free.
Do you really have to understand all of that in Earthly terms? Jesus said we must have the faith of a child. Wide is the path that leads to destruction, and narrow is the way that leads to life, and few there be that find it! Call out to Jesus, ask Him to save you. Allah can’t, Buddha can’t, Joseph Smith doesn’t have the answers, there is no Nirvana coming, there is no New Age of Enlightenment. That is the truth for those who are truly interested in Truth. Jesus is the Truth.
There is a hint of coming fall in the cooler temperatures. Seasons continue to come and go. Today life goes on. Despite the wars, despite the scandals, despite the economy. I have peace because I know the promises of my God. Can you say the same? If not, seek God with your whole heart, and He guarantees that you will find Him. Go to the Bible. He wrote everything He wanted you to know right in there. There is not a lot of time left. Life does not end at physical death. Your soul is eternal. There are two options for eternity. Heaven, and Hell. And that is the truth.
Where will you spend your eternity?

Hi Shekinah
Very reflective post! But that was yesterday!
David wrote ‘This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it’ Ps118:24.
Jer 31:13 tells ‘Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance.. for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow’. God is with you Emmanuel Mt1:23.. He will never leave you nor forsake you Heb13:5.
Re Happy To Be Glad. Wow! Very gifted for your very young son to have written this very insightful poem. Since he must have been about 13 then in 2009. Very bright & talented . I hope others will get to read it also!
