I am going to share a story that landed in my inbox this morning, but first I want to say this: there are good and bad people in every profession. God calls Christians salt and light. Salt to preserve the culture from utterly rotting with the infection of sin, and light to dispel the darkness of evil. It is more important right now than ever before, for Christians to be true in their representation of Christ on Earth, in our conduct and all dealings with others, in our conversations, and all that we do.
When I started our Neighborhood Watch group I quickly discovered that most people in our neighborhood expressed that the did not trust the police. Granted the neighborhood I live in consists of about as many folks apt to have some minor criminal record as those who are law-abiding, and the Watch group was starting at a time when our police department had only recently been under investigation on some pretty significant charges.
Still, what is corrupt in this world, is growing more so by the hour. This particular story mentions some actions on the part of one officer, which patently demonstrate “staging” for the purpose of justifying charges that would allow the citizen to be held in custody: by yelling “stop resisting” and “stop trying to take my gun”, when the citizen was doing nothing but sitting there with his hands in the air. I have a neighbor who is about six foot and five inches tall, weigh’s about 270. He went to the police headquarters to file a formal complaint regarding some neighborhood kids who had been trespassing on his property, throwing rocks at his vehicle windshield, and scratching the paint. He had called the police on these kids before, only to have them be dismissive toward the kids. When an officer came out into the public waiting area to speak with him, and again was dismissive, the neighbor’s tone of voice raised in intensity as he was incredulous that the officer would not even take a report. At that change in pitch the officer stepped very close to the neighbor, and raised his own voice saying loudly “do not threaten me, sir, step back, sir”. The neighbor did step back and said more calmly, “I did not touch you, you were the one who got up in my face”, at which time the officer continued in his loud “command voice” saying “sir, this is your last warning, if you don’t calm down, I am going to place you under arrest”. The neighbor then pointed to the camera in the corner of the ceiling and said “go right ahead. I’m sure that camera right there will show who threatened whom”.
Where does this thug-mentality come from in our police officers? Is this being taught to them at the academy? Is it an attitude problem developed over frustrating years of police work and putting one’s life on the line only to have the criminals released back onto the street twenty-four hours later? I realize there is no shortage of folks on the streets of this nation today who wouldn’t blink an eye while killing a policeman. But when the policemen lose the ability, or worse, the will, to discern a true threat from an average Joe, when they become so obsessed about “putting someone away” that just anyone will do, guilty or not, they no longer care, then there is a real problem.
Isaiah 50:20 says woe to them who call good evil and call evil good, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! It seems we are living in a time when that is exactly what is happening.

Terrifying Evidence of How the Government Could Treat Us
Imagine that you have been arrested and the story told to you in court sounds nothing like what actually happened at the time of your arrest. What would you do? How would you respond? How would you defend yourself?
Most of us would argue that the state’s story was a lie and then we would tell them what really happened… but who would the court believe? Would the court believe the arrested criminal or the state law enforcement officers who are supposed to be the good guys?
This scenario played out for a Bloomfield, New Jersey man, and he almost went to prison because of it.
After a domestic dispute encounter, Marcus Jeter left his home in Bloomfield; several minutes later he was pulled over by police who charged him with eluding police, resisting arrest and assault. Mr. Jeter faced time in prison over the encounter – but he said the police reports were complete lies. Even his lawyer thought he was the one lying. Fortunately for Jeter, a 2nd dash cam tape that police had been hiding eventually surfaced during the trial – proving his story and showing proof positive that the police reports were falsified and the officers had lied about what happened. (At around 2:30 into the video the officer lies and acts out for the cameras about what Mr. Jeter is doing.)

I hate these kind of stories. So scary. And I hate how militarized our police are coming and how they treat everyone like a criminal from the start. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Surprised that this story made it to the mainstream news!

I think that the more people are desensitized to it, the more it will start popping up in the news. That is precisely how they measure the level of conditioning society has reached.

Yes, that is true. Sadly, not many are outraged by anything these days, that is unless their favorite contestant on American Idol gets sent home
