(Natasha Smith) On Tuesday, Patrick O’Brien Nolin, a Oregon resident, was arrested and booked into the Multomah County Jail while riding a public bus and allegedly talking to another passenger about firearms.
Nolin was claimed to have been overheard by a TriMet bus driver telling the other passenger that he had a firearm on him
The TriMet police were then called to the scene. They approached the bus at the corner of Sandy Boulevard and Northeast 82nd Avenue. As police were getting ready to board the bus the received a new report stating that Nolin was armed and has his firearm cocked and loaded.
Police proceeded with caution while boarding the bus and then confronted Nolin. They discovered that Nolin had no firearm or any other type of weapon at all. Although Nolin had not broken any laws the police arrested him and charged him with “Interfering With Public Transportation” according to infowars.com, which a Class A Misdemeanor. Several hours later he was released on his own recognizance.
According to infowars.com “TriMet regulations, no person, except for law enforcement, can bring or carry any firearm, knife or any other instrument, article, device, material or substance specifically designed for, or attempted to be used to, inflict or cause bodily harm to another. TriMet also goes on to state that a person in possession of a weapon, that cannot be legally banned, may not display or carry the weapon in a manner which is likely to result in fear or alarm by other persons or District employees.”
