Ferguson Fury shows no sign of abating

St. Louis tear gas riots

This picture is as surreal as what is happening there in Ferguson.  Excessive force on the part of the police in this nation is becoming pandemic.  It seems to me that the citizens have a legitimate gripe, but of course the looters are always simply opportunistic.

This is not the first time we have seen this sort of thing in America, but unfortunately it is becoming almost commonplace. The above photo is from this MSN news article.  So now they are using tear gas to disperse the crowd.  Of course Obama is busy vacationing.  Nothing for him to concern himself with.

We are witnessing the breakdown of society little by little.  Each time this sort of thing happens, the response is more militant.  I am not without sympathy for the dangers of police work, but the mentality that everyone not in uniform is the enemy and a criminal until proven otherwise, has some pretty frightening implications.

Apparently the group “Anonymous” has proclaimed the identity of the supposed officer who shot Michael Brown, while police officially deny they have correctly identified the officer involved, and the Anonymous Twitter account has been suspended.

This CNN report (with video) blames police for escalating the violence with the tear gas and rubber bullets, and I would have to agree, it seems this thing has been handled poorly from the very beginning, and only getting worse.  It is like Katrina all over again, this response.  It is like the police themselves have become paranoid.
