Something you don’t see every day

While traveling West on 360 West near Blackstone today with my husband, to visit his Dad in the hospital, We saw 12 army tanks traveling the other direction.  On the highway, with a couple of army trucks in the convoy.  I have never seen them moved this way, probably from Fort Pickett heading to Fort Lee?

We think they were Strykers

A quick fact-search reveals that the Army actually just rolled out it’s plan to upgrade its Strkers, under the Army’s Operating Concept and Combat Vehicle Modernization Strategy, so that may explain why these were on the move.  The upgrades are due to be completed by 2018.
