Fear is a lie. Fear says “I can’t” but God’s Word says otherwise.God never has failed to give me peace, if I asked for it. “Ye have not because ye ask not”. I do forget to ask. Sometimes you land in a circumstance and are up to your neck, before you’ve even had a chance to remember to ask.
I am the kind of person who, foolish though it may sometimes seem, confronts a threat head on. Such as the time a man was watching my house when I pulled up, and continued to do so after I went in. It is just my nature. We have seen the evil of this world up close, especially this past week. and we know it is personal, it is personified, in Satan, and it makes us angry with righteous anger, and we feel powerless sometimes.
I think when your convictions are just that strong, you don’t give thought to “danger”, when it suddenly springs out of nowhere. You just do what needs doing. I’m pretty sure that’s how soldiers get through wars, and police officers get through their shift day after day.
You’ve waited so long. You are starting to doubt. Why should you keep hoping?
My answer to that is simple! It is not over until it is over. I am pretty convinced that is what Jesus meant when He said “Occupy until I come”! Only the father knows when that is. Until then, we prepare as well as ee are able, for the worst, and we pray, and we continue to stand our ground and do what He has set before us to do, wherever God has us planted.
We pray and desire for Jesus to come, but we also know that it is mercy alone which causes God to delay. That aunt you are praying for, that husband, wife, or son. One more day, one more shot at salvation. Even as we long for another city, we want everyone to have the opportunity to have what we have been given, even as we know, many will not humble themselves to receive it. As things grow more tumultious, remember that as hard-headed and stiff-necked as people can be, suffering sometimes brings a few to their senses
So we will remain true to our convictions. We are not afraid to die. We know where we will be then. There are things that are worse, but God has enabled every msrtyr to somehow endure their martyrdom.
Whatever battle erupts, it will be much too late a moment for deciding where you stand. Make up your mind now, that you will trust Him, because you know He is trustworthy then ask Him to enable you, orepare you for anything you may face in days to come. The Lord will give you what you need, when you need it. Just ask. He likes for us to ask. Trust God, and pray.
Praying lines up our hearts with His will, and whether He grants the petition, or changes our heart to accept the alternative, what does it matter? Either way, all our need is satisfied.
Do not fear what man may do to you. Don’t take your eyes off of the Lord. If your focus drifts away, fix it on Him again. I know it’s easier said than done. We are on the last leg of this journey. Hold on another day. Take one day at a time, and don’t let your mind run with vain imaginations.
