Blessed fellowship

Today  a friend and I helped another friend with some yard work. She is the friend whose husband died last week. She is, and he was, like family.   After the yardwork, we three friends had lunch, and it was just a real nice visit.  I miss visiting.  It was nice just to listen to the other two talk.  I didn’t say a whole lot myself, as I have laryngitis from coughing all night, lol.  (Gotta love the change of weather! ) We had a nice chicken salad with apples and cranberries and pita.  I learned that a former neighbor whom I had witnessed the gospel to and prayed for, for years, has come to know the Lord as her savior and is trying to learn and understand about the Bible.  That absolutely made my day.  It is true that you don’t ever know when the seeds you plant are going to take root and grow and bear fruit.  The Lord just puts people in your life and you’re just supposed to love them and share Him with them.  It doesn’t require a degree from a Bible college, or a formula or script.  The best witness is a life witness, and telling all that the Lord has done for you.  You don’t have to quote chapter and verse.

You know, we really have lost our way, we humans.  God made us for fellowship and yet much of the interaction that takes place between people is extremely superficial and impersonal.  Our hearts yearn to be known and accepted and loved just as we are.  As children that comes easy.  But the older we get, the more jaded we become as we accumulate wounds and scars and disappointments.  Thank You, Lord, for blessed fellowship, for Your wisdom in who you bring across our paths, and for all that You give us.

  1. I am sorry about your throat, I hope that you get better soon. I have been affected by the change from winter to summer here, although we are experiencing a cold front. I rejoice with you about your friend getting saved. The Lord has his timing and I have the hope that a few people that I am praying for will answer the call before the tribulation.
Nothing as sweet and enjoyable as true Christian fellowship. Talking is not required :). Maranatha!
