Two of my dearest friends, and the two that have known me the longest, both took me to lunch today for a special Birthday Blessing! It was a hoot! They know all about me and love me anyway!
I met Lila during first grade, when I moved and changed schools. She was more shy than me. She also lived directly behind me. We were in the same classes all the way up until 3rd grade and we figured it would be that way for ever. We were so heartbroken when 4th grade separated us. I think we were in the same class in 5th. Lets see. First grade, Mrs. Merner, second grade, Mrs. Woolridge, third grade Mrs. Walker, 4th I’m not sure, Woodby I think. 5th Mrs. Frink, I think. HA! I can’t remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday but I remember my teachers from when I started school in 1970!
I met Tam in middle school when we were standing in line for the auditorium for music assembly. She looked down at my white “bo-boes” (canvas tennis shoes) and said “Hey! Your feet are huge like mine”. Always been a subtle one, that Tam, LOL! I was just relieved to know I wasn’t the only freak with size 9 shoes in the 6th grade. HA, HA!
The sun is shining way too brightly from my right in the picture. I think it freaked out the digital camera a little. I tried to adjust the exposure but I guess it’s just too big of a contrast. Still it’s better than my old digital. I couldn’t take a picture of the Christmas tree because it could not decide which light to focus on. Out of fairness to the camera, I should mention that I do put a ton of lights on my tree.
Thank you Tammy! Thank you Lila! Love you guys!
People sometimes have asked about my Icon photo.
That is me, though it was taken about 8 or 9 years ago. The yellow flower I have on my head and the daffodil have a special significance for me. Wanna hear about it? I will write about that in my next post! Stay tuned!

A bit late but nevertheless a Blessed Birthday to you happy daffodil : ) Liked the story
