Have you ever made a statement expressing your frustration about a situation that is largely outside your control, only to have a fellow Christian (or churchian) admonish you for verbalizing such a thought?
I have. I have often had someone say “you just need to rebuke that” or “just don’t receive it”.
Eh? Sorry. Nein sprechen sie deutsch! This does not compute for me!
I know most churchians will probably be offended by this, but it doesn’t work that way.
Seriously, it doesn’t. Not for Christians. I mean, yeah, there is such a thing as “magic” but it is forbidden for Christians. It is “dark powers” held by demonic spirits. Familiar spirits.
This “positive confession” circulating (rampantly) in churches today is antithetical to reality. Jesus told us that narrow is the way that leadeth to eternal life. Few there are that find it.
Those who are all about having your best life here and now, who exist, live, breathe, and have their being for the “experiential”, are not living by the Bible. They simply are not.
Just about everyone now thinks they receive “personal special revelation” from God via dreams, visions, contemplative meditation, what have you! They believe that there is secret, hidden knowledge that is not in the Bible, or that the Bible is merely a “code” which must be broken in order to find the esoteric (hidden/alternate) meaning underneath.
Christians who fail to know about the prevalence of these things in the church, and who do not have strong grounding and foundation in Biblical truth, will be susceptible to this “mysticism creep” that has infested the visible church.
The “new age” of enlightenment is the same old lie Satan told in the Garden. That mere humans may be as gods.
Just like a mom who raised twelve kids is not likely to be fooled by anything “new” the younger ones try and get away with, so in human nature, there really are no “new” tricks. Just new generations pulling the same old ones.
There is only one confession that has power to change your future.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
