Once in a while I gotta do a personal “ketchup” post

…to ketch ya’ll up on my life.

You know how when the rapture is getting close, and the world is going nuts and your head is just spinning and life still continues to play out as if there is everything is normal ?  You know that feeling?

Yeah. Kind of surreal.

It was prom this past weekend for our soon-to-graduate son.  Yes, poor kid, Mom posts pix of her sons on her blog.  You shoulda seen what I did for pix when they were helpless babies.  HA!  lol.  Good times.

Yup, he’s a total “Hipster”!

He looks a bit like a throwback to the fifties?/sixties? “teen crush” Bobby Rydell!  Couldn’t resist using the old sepia and other cool effects on his pix.

We had a real live miracle in our family last weekend. My little brother had a car come off the jack while he was working under it and somehow he managed to get out from under.  He has 12 effected ( 5 broken, others cracked and/or bruised) ribs, and eighteen stitches around his eye.  But no internal organ injuries and no permanent eye damage. (Heck of a good plastic surgeon by looks of the repair work, probably won’t even have a scar!)  This is a guy with a chest like a linebacker, under a race car with less than six inches of clearance from the chassis to the ground.  He can’t explain how he got out, nor how he made his way to the cell phone several feet away, but after calling 911 and several neighbors until someone finally answered, he managed not to have my sister-in-law be the one who found him in that condition, for which we all are grateful. Especially my sister-in-law.  Spent a couple of nights in ICU and now he is already chomping at the bit to go back to work and bragging about sleeping on his stomach!  He is one of those folks that has a philosophy “I’m going to live until I die, and when it’s my time, it’s my time”(thus the race car) and always lands on his feet, but he’s going to give all the rest of us a heart attack before it’s over with!  Seriously though, all praise and thanksgiving to God for His protection.  His Guardian Angel definitely earns his keep!

On a less celebratory note, I ask for your prayers for our family.  My husband’s Dad, who is in assisted living/ hospice, had another stroke yesterday and the prognosis is looking to be about 24 hours or less at this point.  He is a Christian and we know we will see him again.  But prayers appreciated for him.

If you don’t see posts going up in next few days, you’ll know why.  Although I may be able to persuade a guest author to keep the flow going. It’s kind of been a real doozy couple of weeks in the prophetic developments, wouldn’t you say?

But God is still on His throne, and He is still good.
