IRS Forces Gig Workers to Report over $600 Threshold of Venmo, PayPal Payments

The same has been true for sales over $600 on Ebay, Mercari,  etc since the beginning of 2022. So, even if you are cleaning out your attic, selling online as opposed to a yard sale, you get taxed on it. For all I know yard sale profits over $600 may now be taxed as well. –STL

The IRS reminded gig workers this week to report payments over a $600 threshold made through third party payment apps, such as Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, and PayPal.
