Note: If you are like me, and Jean-Louis, and can easily whip-off 20 paragrapsh without batting an eye, yes, WordPress does seem to have difficulty with lengthy comments.  Or, comments in general.  I have learned that even though answering them via e-mail is an option, most of the time it only manages to capture the first 4 or 5 words.  So I ‘ve learned to address all comments from the dashboard.  If you have lots of good stuff to say in your comment, the best way to do that is by using the Contact ST Lloyd label/tab at the top of my blogstream because chances are I will want to put all your great insight in a post where everyone can benefit from it!  So sorry J.L., that you’ve had to rewrite all that and it’s the second time!

Hi Sandee, Yesterday I wrote a long comment then lost it with a click! Oh well. It was a word of encouragement from an entry in one of my journals from Nov. 2010. Since I still have it with me, I thought that I would write another long comment on my thoughts and observations on scriptures´s similarity which when  cross referenced in both testaments  could implicitly refer to our being caught up with the Lord before the tribulation. This is not an in-depth study with the context , but a small compilation of verses that caught my attention during my years of reading and studying the Scriptures – punctuated by a few comments and a few subdued exuberant joyful “makes me feel like jumping up and not come down”.  After studying for a while the bible student will see some patterns woven through the whole tapestry, some passages which while not totally explicit on a theme are still part of the intricate fabric. I think it takes a childlike faith to accept things that are not and believe that God will bring them to fulfillment.

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Romans 4:17 . King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

Case in point: do we make fun of a little boy who extends his arms and makes a sound like an airplane while moving around pretending that he is flying. He would teach us a lesson in faith and humility if we were to ask him: What do you think are you doing? Well sir, can´t you see, I am flying. No you are not. Maybe to you, it seems that way. How do you you can fly? Just look at the sky, you see that airplane. One day when I am all grown up I tell I am going to fly. You just can´t see because you don´t have the eyes of a child.

Now for the girls: Would you say to a group a sweet little girls that they are wrong at pretending that they are having a tea party without any visible props, but with little pinkies in the air and proper conversation to boot. I am sure they would want to invite you to join the fun, but who wants to entertain somebody who would be disappointed and spoil everything?

So please Mr. Detractor, don´t tell me that I can´t fly or that I can´t have a celebration feast with my friends, because my Jesus and several faithful witness did just that and when the time of his choosing has come, I am going to do just that because he said so. And yes, I plead guilty as charged by (word) association.

I see a lot of confusion arising from reading and listening to the words of men and not being grounded and established enough in the word of God. Personally, I like to read or listen to teachers that encourage me to find out for myself what the Word says and test what they say and write like a Berean. I think we get confused and sidetracked when we lose sight of the perfect plan and time table of God and do not fully trust what the Lord has written in his Word concerning our future with him.

I wanted to share what I found so interesting and so encouraging, concerning types and shadows of the Ark of the Covenant, of the Sabbath rest that we Christians have already entered,  and ask you what you think. I am not writing all the pertinent cross references  because you know them. Sometime soon I plan on posting these as a more detailed and comprehensive study. These little gems that I discover in my studies are just like appetizers that are incentives to dig deeper and feast on the word of God. It should be easy to identify patterns because of the recurrence of word groups and hints of the reality to come couched in subtle expressions all throughout the OT.

— About the rest and the cross over: But to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said, 13 “Remember the command that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you after he said, ‘The LORD your God will give you rest by giving you this land.’ 14 Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, ready for battle, MUST CROSS OVER ahead of your fellow Israelites. YOU ARE TO HELP THEM 15 UNTIL THE LORD GIVES THEM REST, AS HE HAS DONE FOR YOU, and until they too have taken possession of the land the LORD your God is giving them.

Do you see us going ahead of the last days Israel, preparing to come back with the Lord as the army of his saints to defeat the enemies and usher the millennial kingdom? John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; HE HAS CROSSED OVER FROM DEATH TO LIFE.

1 John 3:14 “WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE PASSED FROM DEATH TO LIFE, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.”

Matthew 11:28: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Also the newly married men in Israel had a year to enjoy their bride and didn´t go to war. So could the 7 years of the church being caught up and “crossing over” from one dimension to another following the Lord express the fulfillment of the OT scripture above? I am just writing in broad strokes, you can figure out the details with other relevant scriptures.

Isaiah 28:12 To whom he said, THIS IS THE REST WHEREWITH YE MAY CAUSE THE WEARY TO REST; and this is the REFRESHING: yet they would not hear. King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

BTW, this is addressed to Ephraim as a woe. I think that beginning 100 years ago and becoming more so since the 60´s, except for the faithful bible believing born again Christians, the US church fits quite well as a representation of OT Ephraim for its syncretistic religion. See 2 Kings 17:24.

– Now for the time of refreshing when the Lord comes back to restore the kingdom to Israel

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the TIMES OF REFRESHING SHALL COME FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD.20 AND HE SHALL SEND JESUS CHRIST, which before was preached unto you:21 Whom the heaven must receive until THE TIMES OF RESTITUTION OF ALL THINGS, which GOD HATH SPOKEN BY THE MOUTH OF ALL HIS HOLY PROPHETS SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN.

– About the Way and following Jesus where he is going:

In Joshua 3, I found the beginning of verse 4 fascinating. At first I thought it was an error, it doesn´t make sense.   “After three days the officers went throughout the camp, 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHICH WAY TO GO, SINCE YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS WAY BEFORE. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits[c] between you and the ark; do not go near it.”

Now in John 14 we have a companion parallel scripture,  Jesus explains what in the  OT were shadows . “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b] 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN AND RECEIVE YOU TO MYSELF; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 AND WHERE I GO YOU KNOW, AND THE WAY YOU KNOW.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “LORD, WE DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING, AND HOW CAN WE KNOW THE WAY?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

– About the Ark of the covenant, the presence of God  and the similarity with the empty tomb after the Lord´s resurrection. Jesus as king, prophet, and judge. Isaiah 33:22 The Lord is our Judge, Lawgiver and King. The Ark of the covenant contained a jar of manna, the budding rod of Aaron and the tablets of the law. The mercy seat and the 2 cherubims. Jesus is our Kingly high priest and the judge of the nations with the king´s scepter   Psalm 110. Jesus as the bread of heaven, the word of God, the word of life. He is the prophet foretold by Moses Deut 18:15 and spoken of in Hebrews 1:2 Jesus as our priest not according to the priesthood of Aaron,( born out of the tribe of Judah) but according to the  order of Melkizedek. Psalm 110, Hebrews 7:1-3 He intercedes for us Romans 8:34 Jesus as lawgiver made a glorious New Covenant with his blood. His law is written on our hearts, not on tablets of stone: 2 Corinthians 3:1-6. He gives us his Royal law James 2:8, his law of the Spirit that sets us free; Romans 8:2; his law of grace: John 1: 17, Romans 6:14,  the perfect law of liberty: James 1:25, the law of love: Romans 13:10, Galatians 2:14 Where is the ark of the covenant ? Would it benefit us to find the ark expect as a relic for the people who worship artifacts? This is what Jeremiah declares: “It shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land,” declares the LORD, “they will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the LORD.’ And it will not come to mind, nor will they remember it, nor will they miss it, nor will it be made again. New American Standard Bible (©1995)

We know that the presence of the Lord in the person of the Holy Spirit is in us. In the same chapter 14 of John where Jesus talks about coming back, he says:

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

So now that the Holy spirit indwells the believer, we don´t need to follow and ark , we are guided by the Holy spirit and we can follow our Shepherd who goes before us, leading his sheep with the sound of his voice.

I love this word abide, it speaks of abode, dwelling, our future home. How can one not get excited about the future of the fulfillment of our Lord´s promise to us who love his appearing? A few years ago, I saw that while reading John and I got so excited with joy.

Now after the resurrection the scene is described as such: in John 20:11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,  12 And seeth TWO ANGELS IN WHITE SITTING, THE ONE AT THE HEAD, AND THE OTHER AT THE FEET, where the body of Jesus had lain.

– The Mercy Seat and the 2 cherubim

17“Make an atonement cover of pure gold—two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.d 18And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. 19MAKE ONE CHERUB ON ONE END AND THE SECOND CHERUB ON THE OTHER; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. Exodus 27:17-19.

The cherubim on each end of the atonement cover or mercy seat were made out of gold by human hands, the presence of the Lord YHWH was inside the Ark of the testimony made by human hands, transported by humans. If any human hands touched the ark, the person would die.

Jesus the Lord of mercy who died for us, “in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, (Colossians 2: 9) made atonement for us and then was resurrected on the 3rd day was not in the tomb where the 2 women had expected him to be. Later on, when the Lord had gone to heaven in his glorified body He allowed his disciples to touch him. Only the tomb was carved by human hands. The 2 angels were real, not mere man made reprentations., they came from heaven. They were seated on each end as the cherubim in the mercy seat of the ark, but the Lord had risen, he was and is alive.

This is why we don´t need the earthly Ark of the covenant anymore. The Lord Jesus is the embodiment of the King, High Priest and Prophet. We are pilgrims and strangers, the new tabernacle of the New covenant of the blood of Jesus-Christ. As born again believers, we are indwelt by the Holy presence of God following Him wherever he is keeping our eyes focused on Him. We are waiting for his glorious appearing and looking  towards our new home the heavenly city, the new Jerusalem that Abraham whose children we are gaze on from afar on his journey of faith.

– Name changes

Abraham and Sarah Sometimes God changed the name of a person after making a covenant with them, or after an experience that marked and separated different stages in the life of the persons. Without going into details, we know that he changed the name of Abram into Abraham and Sarai into Sarah.

But before that when he left Ur of the Chaldees, his ancestral country, he was an idolater and when He CROSSED OVER the Euphrates river  from  Haran to Canaan,  by doing so he became a “Abram the Hebrew “ from Eber meaning “beyond, from the other side”.

Jacob Jacob´s name was changed to Israel at Peniel after he wrestled all night with a stranger who gave him his new name. But two verses before, Genesis 32:22 states: And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and PASSED OVER ( or crossed over) THE FORD JABBOK. King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

Joshua: ( who crossed over the Jordan) to Canaan.  These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. (Moses gave Hoshea [meaning deliverer] son of Nun the name Joshua.[meaning Jehovah-saved)  Numbers 13:16. New International Version (©1984)

Peter And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. John 1:42. King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT.

Interestingly enough, this is the first time the church was mentioned because of the declaration of faith by Peter.

Abraham our father in the faith also was also given a similar promise because he believed, obeyed God and set out on a three days journey to sacrifice his son Isaac on mount Moriah or the temple mount in Jerusalem.

15And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; AND THY SEED SHALL POSSESS THE GATE OF HIS ENEMIES; 18And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. That seed was the Lord Jesus. New American Standard Bible (©1995) Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as referring to many, but rather to one, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ. Galatians 3:16. See also Galatians 3:6-9.

Paul´s name which was changed to Saul. Saul passed from the condition of spiritual and literal blindness to a state of seeing the light of Christ and walking in His light.

The Christians in the church of Philadelphia Revelation 3 is used by prophecy teachers to represent the church rescued from the tribulation. I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;[d] for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.  Behold,[e] I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him THE NAME OF MY GOD and THE NAME OF THE CITY OF MY GOD, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I WILL WRITE ON HIM MY NEW NAME. Wow! Talk about 3 powerful identifiers. Before the rapture, we were called earth dwellers, pilgrims, nomads. Yes we bore the name of Christ our Lord and Savior but now we are identified by three names: 1. Our Father´s name. As in “Hoshea son of Nun” becomes “Yeoshua son of YHWH” 2. The name of our new place of residence. Joshua from Yerushaleim the city of peace. As in the German name  “Johan Von  Baumgarten” meaning  John from the Orchard (literally fruit garden) or “Jean Dupont”  “John from the Bridge”. 3. Our elder brother Jesus-Christ´s new Name, the first fruit of our resurrection. i.e.  /( translation, catching away/deliverance/ rescue/changing/entering of the bridal chamber/the gathering/the redemption of our bodies).

Interesting that the other church whose faithful overcomers get a new name is the church at Pergamos, known at the church of the martyrs.

Prayer of Paul for the  Ephesians:   For this reason I kneel BEFORE THE FATHER, 15 FROM WHOM EVERY FAMILY[A] IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH DERIVES ITS NAME. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!   1. No need to be sorry! As I said the comment I lost 2 days ago wasn´t that long. I wrote this current one yesterday and you are the one who prodded me into action. In fact we bounce of each other. All I had to do is tap into all the Scriptures that the Lord has shown me for year and tap on the keys Thank God for computers and the Internet. I even shortened the final draft because it was too long. Thank for posting it. I have more to come, it´s just a matter of time.
    Hey don´t change anything. Keep them coming. Just like Pringles, you can´t read just one. After my morning coffee, you are my drug of choice! LoL.
