Me, only more-so.
As a matter of habit, from time to time through-out my life, I have taken myself “aside” from my own life taken inventory. It’s not a “New Years” thing, and not even always a yearly thing, but I like to take stock and see if there is any “housecleaning” or renovation needed, and I also really like to keep track of my blessings.
This blog, started in March of this year, sort of came out of my lifelong search for “the thing” I am cut out for. I have always loved to write. In fact I’ve have 2 rough manuscripts that I shopped to publishers and had interested publishers for both. I have several friends who are published, and have edited the books of two of those. My degree, as some of you know, is in nursing, however. After getting those “nibbles” I had to step back and really look at the question of being a published author. (Ido Lanuel, if you are reading this, I know you have thoughts, (fear fear fear?) leave me a comment, my Israili friend). I became pretty familiar with the whole process as my friend Tammi Morgan went through it. And it pretty much came clear t to me that the process was probably not one I am well suited for, being that I have the attention span of a gnat and so among other circumstances (another exacerbation of mystery symptoms for several months during the first half of 2012) the blog was born. I LOVE the instant gratification. I write, then I publish. Done! (This is me, happy!)
Every time I have even come close to thinking I might be getting bored (or conversely, burnt out) with this blog, I get a sweet comment or e-mail from someone telling me how grateful they are that the Lord led them to Servehiminthewaiting.com. Well, all I can say, is that from the beginning, it was the Lord’s blog. And I have loved every second of it, and all the folks I’ve corresponded with that have blesseed me so much!
I would like to remind readers that whenever you are on the main blogstream, if you look above the current-most post, you will see tabs or labels across the top. Each one of those is a permenant page, and many of them have drop-down sub-pages. I am probably the only blog on the internet with some 50 pages, lol. (I have never been mistaken as someone who is concise). Somehow, though, my rambling mind “works for me”.
I also want to remind folks that there is a “Contact S.T. Lloyd” label up there too. I would love to hear from you with some feedback. What do you want more of? What do you want less of? What do you like and what would you change? You may have gathered that I have a distinct preference for dealing in honesty, so I’ll just tell you right up front, I may not take your adivice, but I will consider it! ☺
Get in touch. Tell me about yourself. Send me your thoughts. Your poems. Your funnies. Links to stuff that blessed you. Testimonies you’d like to share. K?
I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
More booms here in Central Va! Haven’t looked at any news to see if anyone else is reporting it. I don’t know of any fracking in my area. But who knows? (She’s bleeakin oop, Cap’n, I don’t think I can hoold herrrr mooch loongerrrr).
I know, fruitcake, right? ♪ Fruitcakes in the kitchen, fruitcakes on the bus, there’s a little bit of fruitcake left in every one of us.
Here you think I’m all serious and then I go and break into random silly-ness.
(Whaaaat kind of scripture-quotin’ Buffett-listenin’, Star-Treck watchin’ psychopath of a Christian are you anyway?, they ask.)
Yeah, I also talk to the TV. What of it? I take that after me Pop. Who has been in Heaven now 27 days and some-odd hours. I am so jealous! And soooo HAPPY for him!
