When the Supreme Court announces its decision on marriage next month, it will affect much more than whether a state can define marriage as being between one man and one woman. An adverse ruling will infringe on the First Amendment rights of federal, state, and local workers who never before had to choose between doing their jobs or exercising their religious rights. They also may face suspension, termination, or even criminal prosecution.
The battle lines have been drawn in North Carolina and several other states.
This case reveals the conflicts erupting across the United States as intolerant activists impose their will on the majority of Americans who refuse to participate in same-sex unions.
The same-sex marriage agenda threatens religious liberty and freedom of conscience. Although it is full of rhetoric about tolerance and equal rights, the agenda is anything but tolerant.
Christians and people of faith and values have been silenced through ‘hate speech’ laws. Now, magistrates, pastors, bakers, photographers, business owners, event planners, and others are being forced against their will to celebrate and assist in something against their deeply held religious beliefs.
Jeweler Sells Same-Sex Couple Rings – Then They Blast Him Over His Marriage Views and Cry Victim!
Such a reaction by this lesbian couple proves that no matter how lovingly and respectfully some homosexual folks are treated, there is no “tolerance” on their part. And tolerance is not what they are interested in. They don’t want “equal rights” they want the world to sanction and condone, to celebrate their lifestyle. The problem with that is, as Christians, we cannot. It goes against the scriptures that we live by, and pretending otherwise, even if they could convince the whole world to do so, will not change that fact. God is God, His Word is law. We can change all the laws of our land, but that won’t make it ok. And those in the lifestyle can get just as angry with me for saying that as they feel they are entitled to be, but when they face their Maker, He will settle the matter. They may win their campaign with a vote by the Supreme Court in their favor, and they may succeed in passing legislation that sets laws of men in direct opposition to the laws of God, thus labeling Christians as “outlaws”, and they may cause us to lose jobs and businesses, subject us to fines and prison, but this will only store up more wrath against them when God’s judgment fully falls. I have much more to fear from God in regards to rebellion and disobedience, than of men and man-made laws that oppose God in rebellion.
