As someone who can actualy remember when there was a sense of reverence when sitting in a church sanctuary, to this article, I add a resounding AMEN! Sanctuary….sanctified….set apart…a place of safety, peace, and refuge. A place where the Lord used to meet with His people, not necessarily building, but a presence of the Holy Spirit in His people. Now most churches are Ichabod– STL
The modern churchgoing experience is marked by its lack of reverence. It does not give a hint of anything sacred or mystical. There is nothing that forces the reality and presence of God into your mind. Church has become an extension of secular culture rather than an antidote to it.
