The big corporations demonstrate the desired behavior regarding Environmental-Social-Governmental scores, and like good little ducklings, the hypnotized masses fall in line behind them. First they tax you, then they offer to not tax you quite so much in exchange for your compliance. I keep wanting to say “they really do think we are that stupid”, but clearly a significant number of people are sufficiently suggestable for this to work. I think they call that Stockholm Syndrome. It’s like the alcoholic husband who beats his wife while berating her for  “making him” do so.
