If there was any lingering delusion that the ones who have held the reins of America since 2020 were going to go down in flames with the next election cycle, this should orient you to reality; or so one would think.
Personally, I think this is one of the clearest indications yet that the American government is actively, present tense, collapsing. History will look back and mark this as a defining moment. It has nothing to do with who is at the center of all of this.
Have you seen the photos of the progressive drying up of Lake Mead? Sunken boats, human skeletal remains, crashed planes, the cement aggregate plant used to produce the cement for the Hoover Dam, ghost towns, things hidden for decades in the murky depths, now out in the open for the world to see? That’s America in front of the entire world right now. The word “swamp” doesn’t come close to describing the rot. Everyone’s asking “what has happened to the “shining city on a hill?”
Lake Mead hasn’t dried up over night. There’ve been 20 years of drought that have brought it to the current point. So it is with America.
The Bible said there would come a famine in the land, a famine of the preaching of the word (Amos 8:11) and indeed there has. Throughout scripture water signifies the Word of God and the Spirit of God. The drought is very real.
All that was ever “good” about America was a direct result of yieldedness to God Almighty, from the farmers, to the grocers, to the builders and bankers, to the teachers and doctors, to the judges and senators. Our justice system was based on the Ten Commandments and the principles laid down in scripture. Our government was modeled after the old Testament example God first gave to the patriarchs. Yes, America was a patriarchal society, where real men were the leaders, who protected women and childtmren, where elders were honored and valued for their wisdom and lifelong learning. The family unit, as designed and ordained by a wise omniscient God, makes for durable, solid building blocks of society. Those families used to build communities who worshipped together, prayed together, cared for each other, and that was the fabric of America. By intent and by design, newer generations have believed the lie that America was never a Christian nation.
It worked. It worked very well. There are folks starting to recognize the truth of that, but I’m sorry to say, it’s not going to make a difference now. Many people can never appreciate the preciousness of something they have until after it is gone.
Do you wonder why God gave America that four years of Trump? I think it was to remind America what we once had, to juxtapose a taste of the old America directly beside the current state so as to mark the stark contrast. He is big on creating a record. When those who were given so much stand before him on their personal day of judgment, I imagine that image will be one of the “exhibits” entered into evidence in the courtroom of the Righteous Judge.
Age after age, mankind proves that left to our own devices, our default is not “good”, but evil. Man is decidedly not “basically good”.
The world has been getting darker for a long time, but yesterday the stadium lights were turned off in America. There is a finality about it. It was a loss that touches every nation on Earth. Not because it was Donald Trump, because it’s America. Not because America is better, she just had more light for a while. When the light went out of Great Britain, the churches stood empty. Americas churches aren’t empty, they’ve just been infiltrated, and the remnant is about to be forced underground. Those churches still “open for business will all eventially be marked “Ichabod”.
It’s all happened before. Satan craftily orchestrated national amnesia by erasing history from the school books. God have mercy on the young generations who simply don’t know, and woe to the generations who have allowed that to become the case.
To those who are awake, hold fast to what you have, to what you know and understand. If you contributed to the failure, repent and do better. Obey the Lord. Whatever we have coming is no less than we deserve for this life, knowing Jesus has paid for our sins and has an inheritance to share with us in the next life. Overcomers will reign with him.
Luke 21:36 says, “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man”. That passage is directed to those in the tribulation when Jerusalem is encircled by enemy forces all around, but I think it has a secondary application to us now as the conditions of the tribulation take shape. It’s a plea for God to keep you obedient so that you are not subject to judgment in the here and now. All evil which God allows, is judgment, but when a Christian has wandered off the straight and narrow, He allows them to suffer collateral damage as a means of correction and discipline. In perilous times, obedience is the key to safety as well as peace. The world cries for peace and safety, but cannot have it because the world refuses to obey, yea even to acknowledge God. Believers can have peace and safety in the very midst of the peril, by obedience. Do the things you know you are supposed to be doing. Pray. Be in the Word. Fellowship. Love. Witness. If you failed yesterday, start today. It will matter more and more as the chaos expands and the darkness deepens.
Psalm 47: 7-8
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
