Whatsoever things are pure

One thing doing the watchman job is definitely good for, is to serve as a reminder to apply Philippians 4:8.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.

The cleansing with the water of the word is as welcome and refreshing as a shower after working for hours in the yard on a sweaty summer day, after reading about things like this.

Every day I am more grateful that He redeemed me from that thing which underlies all that is wrong with this world. His patience is so unfathomable. His mercy and grace are incomprehensible. But for that grace, I could be blind to the truth, and still subject to the same deception and depravity thet, taken to its full capacity, will result in ever more evil things. My spirit cries out, “how long, Lord?”

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like grass and wither as the green herb.

I am saved. That is my consolation against every evil that I see. Nothing can separate me from the love of God. God has given truth to be seen and heard by any with eyes to see and ears to hear. I am robed in Christ’s righteousness. The residue, the filth, the sin of this existence is removed. Light has no part with darkness even while we are in this world, we are no longer of it. I am more thankful every day, every hour, every awful news story I read, I appreciate all the more w hff at He saved me from. Glory to J
