Dark Winter

Hi ya’ll! I hope you are enjoying fall, and I hope that you are able to look forward to the pleasant aspects of this time of the winding d ou wn of another year. For a long time this time of year was oure dread, for me. I hate all the commercialism, pressure to spend, on things nobody needs, probably won’t like, and will not even remember in 6 months, the fake saccharine sentmentalism that pumps up false expectation, the disappointment it sets people up for, and the whole downer of the pagan roots of Christmas. Fir me there have been things going on that even if I could get past all of the above, I just haven’t felt like trying to get “.into the spirit” of it.
Th uh s year, I have decided to take an “as unto the Lord” aporoach, enjoy the liberty which is in Christ, and celebrate the birth of the Savior aspect, enjoy the twinkling tree lights at night before bed, in the morning as I sip coffee, send out cards this time, and enjoy a cantata or pageant somewhere. I love decirating a table for special meals too. I like homemade gifts. I like making them, giving them, and esoecially I like receiving gifts soneone made just for me. Think about it. When you are making something for someone, you naturally will think about them. We all like knowing we are loved and in the thoughts of our loved ones. I pray for the person as I make their gift. Bought gifts are good too, especially when the giver nails it by knowing what you will love receiving. That says they see you. They see your heart, know what appeals to you, what delights you, or makes you smile.

Biden promised a dark winter. Christmas lights twinkle pretty in the dark if you ask me. The darker the dark, the brighter the light. So we just need to keep shining, and let the darkness do its thing. Darkness can get as deep as it want and all it will do to the light is make it more visible and more obvious.

Right now I’ve been visiting my Mom this week, which is why not so many posts, but will likely be making another couple of trips in coming weeks for her surgery, so I apologize in advance for getting some news out a little late, and possibly missing some big developments.

I am pleased for Kyle Rittenhouse. Glad he is fully exonerated. I dreaded that his misery would be prolonged by a mistrial. If you’d like to see that idiot prosecutor Binger, (who should never touch another gun and could take safety lessons from young Kyle), meet with true justice over clear prosecutorial misconduct and abuse of power, please feel free to sign this petition to disbar Binger.
